Steps for Advertising on Georgia Tourist Guide

1- Examine some of the advertisements that are already on GeorgiaTouristGuide.com. These will give you some good ideas about what you might to include in your ad. Think about the text and the pictures you would like to include. We recommend collecting about 6 or 7 pictures that you might like to include in your ad. Your ad can have up to five pictures, but sometimes a picture does not look as good in the ad - that is why we recommend collecting 6-7. The pictures should be jpg or gif images. Pictures that are more like a square box will be better than long narrow pictures. Also you might consider making the first picture your logo.

2- Advertiser clicks on ADVERTISE at the top of the web page on GeorgiaTouristGuide.com.

3- Advertiser clicks on ADVERTISE button at the bottom of that page when he/she is ready to advertise on GTG.

4- Advertiser completes a simple form that is presented. Form includes:
- Name of your business
- Name of person GTG can contact
- Contact phone number
- Contact e-mail address

5- The information you completed in step 4 will be sent via e-mail to GTG notifying us of your interest.

6- GTG will contact you to discuss the ad, your various options for advertising on our website, and the prices for these options. If you wish to advertise, GTG will clearly state the cost of the ad to you. You can pay for the advertisement by check or with a credit card. If you wish to pay by check, GTG will invoice you. If you pay by credit card, we will get your credit card information and enter the charge. Please note that GTG does not keep or store your credit card data.

GTG will collect the required information below and enter the information on our Advertiser Account Set-Up Form (Word document):

Name of business:
Contact name (person GTG can contact):
Contact phone number:
Contact e-mail address:

Company Name:
(exactly how Advertiser wants it displayed to customers)
Address Line 1:
need street address (physical location of your business) in Address Line 1 in order for mapping feature to properly work
Address Line 2:
City:
County: GTG can use county to identify the Tourist Area/Region where your business resides.
Area/Region:
State: Georgia
Zip Code: zip for physical address of business
Telephone: phone that you want customers to call
Fax Number: (that you want customers to use)
Email: (that you want customers, or tourists, to use)
Website: (website for your business)

Cost of Advertisement: $$$$ (What was quoted to the Advertiser by GTG)

GTG will also need to determine how you wish to classify your business. (For example, you may wish to be classified as a “Place to Stay” – “Bed & Breakfast”.)

7- GTG will begin creating your advertisement by entering the information from the Advertiser Account Set-Up Form (from step 6) into an advertisement on our website.

NOTE: The following steps are for those advertisers that wish to update their ads themselves. If you do not wish to update/manage your ad, GTG will be happy to do it for you. All you have to do is send us the advertisement content in Step # 9 and the pictures that you want included in your advertisement. GTG will create the ad and make any changes that you wish.

8- GTG will send an e-mail to you that will identify your logon ID and password for managing your advertisement on the GTG website. The e-mail will also state the advertisement price which you were previously quoted. The e-mail will state what you need to do to complete your advertisement. We also attach to the e-mail our Advertiser Account Set-up Form that GTG has begun for your advertisement.

9- Complete the Advertiser Account Set-Up Form (in Microsoft Word) with the following:
Description: (probably no more than 300-400 words but there is no set limit)
Summary: (summarize business in 1 or 2 sentences; no more than about 50 words)
Special Offer(s): (You can use for any current special offers that you have. Three or four lines per offer would be best. You will want to come back to this fairly often to keep it up-to-date.) This can be left blank.
Pop-up: (Very useful for menus, price list, etc.) This can be left blank.

10- Collect the pictures you wish to include in your advertisement. We recommend completing the Advertiser Account Set-Up Form and storing it along with your pictures in a folder on your PC.

11- Using the logon ID and password that you got in the e-mail, logon as an Advertiser at the top of the GeorgiaTouristGuide.com website. You will see a screen that contains the information for your ad that GTG has begun for you. You now need to complete your ad. Simply click “Edit Details" and cut and paste the following items from the Advertiser Account Set-Up Form into your advertisement:
Description:
Summary:
Special Offer(s):
Pop-up:

After adding these line items, click SUBMIT at the bottom.

12- You can now add up to five pictures. Simply click on “Edit Images” and follow the process. You will be asked to browse within your files for pictures to add. Select the pictures and add them one by one to your ad.

13- You have now added the details to your advertisement. You can always click "View Display" to see what the advertisement will look like. If you want certain words bolded of enlarged or if you cannot get the layout the way you like it, please contact us. We will be glad to help.

14- You have now completed the advertisement, but it is not live on the website. After you have completed the advertisement, the staff at GeorgiaTouristGuide.com will need to view the advertisement and will then make the ad "go live" when it is deemed ready. GeorgiaTouristGuide.com will notify you when it is live.

NOTE: After your advertisement is live, you can logon to GeorgiaTouristGuide.com at the top of the screen (“Advertiser Login”) using your account name and password and make changes to your advertisement at no cost at any time. When a change is made, the staff at Georgia Tourist Guide.com must review it and make it “live” on the website again.

You can always contact us if you have problems or questions.
