Sandy Springs boasts over 20 miles of Chattahoochee River Shoreline and three National Park Sites. Enjoy rafting, kayaking or canoeing on the river or a hike through the luscious wooded areas. For rentals, Shoot the Hooch is located nearby and is sure to get you launched. Sandy Springs also offers John Ripley Forbes Big Trees Forest Preserve, a 30-acre forest preserve designed to be a spiritual and relaxing oasis.

A work of art and a conversation piece, they sit on many street corners and throughout our shopping areas as a friendly reminder that there is more to Sandy Springs than meets the eye. These giant painted turtles are replicas of the Eastern Box Turtle, an indigenous resident of our area. Join us at this wonderful green space which provides a gathering spot for all our community events. Heritage Green is the historic site where five underground springs meet and are the springs from which our beautiful city gets its name. The area houses the Williams-Payne House, an 1869 plain-style farmhouse, which is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and a gazebo.

Practice your serve at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center, a lighted 24-court tennis facility located in the heart of Sandy Springs. This center serves as the hub for tennis activity in Sandy Springs, Atlanta and Fulton County. The Center is home to more than 130 USTA and ALTA teams and hosts a large number of USTA, GTA and ALTA tournaments each year. The Center offers a large number of programs suited for all levels and age groups.

Sandy Springs Summer Splash – late July - A 6 mile float down the Chattahoochee River hosted by the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Sandy Springs Hospitality & Tourism. Join us for live music, wildlife programs, exhibits, crafts for kids, and self-guided hikes. The float begins at Morgan Falls Dam and ends at Powers Island. Bring your own raft, kayak, or canoe or rent one from a local outfitter (pre-rental suggested)
Hospitality Highway Century Ride- The ride will cover a small section of 400, from exit 7 to exit 6. After leaving the small stretch of 400, would then touch most North Fulton cities and possibly even portions of Forsyth County. Movies by Moonlight- A fall movie series starting in September. Movies will be shown on a 45-foot screen on the terraced lawn at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. Admission is FREE. Movie goers are encouraged to arrive early and picnic with family and friends. Pizza, popcorn, snacks and drinks will be for sale onsite. Pets and Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
