Tour de Georgia

EXCEPTIONAL FIELD OF TEAMS ANNOUNCED FOR 2008 TOUR DE GEORGIA PRESENTED BY AT&T

With a worldwide reputation as a tune-up for the Tour de France, the Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T has perennially drawn the attention of teams from Europe and across North America. The sixth season for this prestigious professional cycling event will include a record 13 Georgia Power Sprint lines and eight United Community Bank King of the Mountain climbs during the seven days of racing, April 21 to 27.

On Monday, April 21, the Tour will begin for the first time on Tybee Island, Ga., located on the coast. The event will move north along the eastern side of the state, entering South Carolina for the first time as part of the Stage 2 finish in Augusta, Ga. A 10-mile Team Time Trial at Road Atlanta is also a first and is expected to attract a record crowd for Stage 4. There will be a new route for one the signature mountain stages in the Blue Ridge Mountains before the event finishes with a new circuit course in downtown Atlanta on Sunday, April 27.

The Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau and its events partners would like to invite you to the premiere of Broadway SpringFest!

This signature event presents a concert Friday April 25 from 7 to 10 PM and full festival activities Saturday April 26 from 10 AM to 7 PM, 2008 in Uptown Columbus along the newly completed Broadway streetscape project. Broadway SpringFest is a free music festival showcasing local and regional performers, including a "Homegrown" Talent Contest. Student and professional art will be on display as we celebrate our talents that are Georgia Made and Georgia Grown. Come experience creativity, art and family fun in the children's area at Broadway SpringFest!

THE ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW RETURNS TO THE GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show will return to the Georgia World Congress Center for its 26th anniversary on April 19-27, 2008.

The Atlanta show is the largest automotive event for the Metro Atlanta dealers, featuring a wide variety of styles, including luxury vehicles, economy cars, sports cars, exotics, hybrids, alternative fuel vehicles, limited production cars, concepts, convertibles, vans, light trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles. It is also one of the 10 largest auto shows in the nation, with over 600,000 square feet of display space.

Columbus is the third largest city in Georgia.
