The Spring 2008 Grand Opening will reveal the new A.W. Jones Heritage Center on St. Simons Island. Residents and visitors to the Golden Isles will soon have a new 10,000 square-foot Heritage Center on the St. Simons Island Lighthouse campus complete with new exhibition space, facilities for lectures and community events, improved public access to archives, and new programs focused on the natural environment.

OPENS TO THE PUBLIC SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 2008

WHAT: GRAND OPENING DAY ACTIVITIES

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

WHERE: On the grounds of the St. Simons Lighthouse and new A. W. Jones Heritage Center

COST: FREE ADMISSION to all events, including the Lighthouse, Keeper’s Dwelling and A.W. Jones Heritage Center

• Live historical performances by Sudy Leavy (as Eugenia Price) and Edward Armstrong (as Don Juan McQueen)
• Civil War re-enactors in encampment
