Welcome to Blairsville - Union County
There are plenty of seasons and plenty of reasons to explore Blairsville and Union County, Georgia, deep in the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest and North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Here, you’ll enjoy hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, as well as watersports on two lakes: Winfield Scott and Nottely. South of Blairsville, the county seat, adventurers can explore eight wonderful waterfalls, as well as petroglyphs left by ancient natives in the soapstone at Trackrock Archeological Area, just east of Blairsville.

Families love festivals, and Blairsville and Union County host many throughout the year. Two favorites are the Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games each June, and the annual Sorghum Festival at Meeks Park in October. Festivals are a mountain of fun for everyone!

Vogel State Park - Blairsville GA
Vogel State Park is one of Georgia’s oldest and most popular state parks, Vogel offers tent and trailer sites, rental cottages, a 20-acre lake, miniature golf, swimming beach, picnic shelters, pedal boats and 17 miles of hiking trails for the outdoor enthusiast. Annual special events include the Wildflower Program in April, the Mountain Music Festival in September and the Tree Lighting Ceremony in December.

Southern Tree Plantation
Located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains in Union County, just 4.7 miles south of Blairsville. Southern Tree Plantation is an active plantation growing thousands of pumpkins and Christmas trees. The Plantation is loaded with fun activities and things to do during our Fall and Christmas seasons. We are open to the general public during this time. We also specialize in outdoor weddings and large group events which are available year round.

Logan Turnpike Mill
Located 5 miles south of Blairsville on U.S. Highway 19/129S the Logan Turnpike Mill is an old homestead originated back from 1916 on the banks of the scenic Nottely River. The mill/store was opened to the public in 1995 and still uses an antique Williams grist mill circa 1916 and a 1926 Fairbanks Morse hit-n-miss engine mounted on a buckboard wagon with iron wheels. They use a stone grinding process that utilizes the whole grain, nothing is removed. Store hours Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm.

Union County Farmer’s Market
Union County Farmer’s Market has over 60 vendors providing home grown produce, handmade crafts fresh flowers, located at 148 Old Smokey Road off of Weaver Road. Hours are Friday 8am – 1pm, Saturday 7am – 1pm, Tuesday 3pm -7pm. Misty Mountain Model Railroad
The largest privately owned O-gauge railroad in the country. Misty Mountain Model Railroad is America’s largest O-gauge train display, a 3,400 square foot layout with 14 O-gauge Lionel trains traveling on a mile of track over 12 bridges and 4 trestles and through 15 tunnels. The layout is a fantasy journey through sights and cities in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Highlights include a 6ft. bridge that raises to allow visitors to enter the display and a 17ft. trestle recreated in Tallulah Gorge, the deepest gorge East of the Mississippi. Travel 3 miles south of Blairsville on U.S. Highway19/129S, turn left onto Town Creek School Road and follow about 4 miles. Tours begin at 2pm. Sleepy Hollow Enterprises
Located 4 miles east of Blairsville on Hwy 76E, the studio, enchanted gardens and gift shop is open to the public from Monday thru Saturday, 9:30am-4:30pm. A family run business (dba Sleepy Hollow Enterprises) - Art Millican Sr. manages our enchanted gardens displays and mom manages the gift shop and art supplies store. Bring the kids - they will love it. Great seasonal floral and ground cover displays, whimsical fairy playhouses and hobbit homes - stroll about the grounds, peek in the woodworking studio and watch the wood-elves toiling away. Visit the gift shop and artist supply shop and view many custom fairy homes.
