There is always something fun to do during your visit to the Zoo!

Zoo Atlanta inspires value and preservation of wildlife through a unique mix of education and outdoor family fun. Highlights include giant pandas; the nation’s largest collection of great apes; and a globally-recognized center of excellence for reptiles and amphibians. Larger-than-life land mammals, majestic big cats, spectacular bird life and a fascinating assembly of creatures large and small provide unforgettable encounters with more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Zoo Atlanta is open daily with the exceptions of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

NEW at the Zoo
Boundless Budgies: A Parakeet Adventure
Home to a colorful flock of free-flying parakeets, the Zoo’s newest attraction gives guests the chance to hand-feed hundreds of birds in an interactive experience unlike any other currently offered in Georgia. The aviary is the largest of its kind in the Southeast.

Po the giant panda cub
Every day’s an adventure for this precarious toddler. Po was the only giant panda cub born in the U.S. in 2010 and can be seen bumbling about his habitat daily with his mother Lun Lun. Po received his name back in February, compliments of Dreamworks Animation SKG. He’s named for the Giant Panda character, Po, in the animated film Kung Fu Panda 2.

Just for kids
Little ones delight in the Outback Station Petting Zoo, Georgia Natural Gas Blue Flame Express, Endangered Species Carousel and two innovative outdoor playgrounds.

There’s always more to do at the Zoo! Plan ahead by visiting for a list of daily activities to enhance your visit, or check your Zoo map the day you arrive for a schedule of times and locations.

Wildlife Theater show – Raptors in flight, owls on the wing and parrots with spunk take the stage for exclusive close encounters with the Zoo’s most popular animal ambassadors.

Keeper Talks – Guests learn more about the animals they love from the professionals who know them best. Keeper Talks and feedings run daily at habitats throughout the Zoo.
