Description
The Casino (defined by the dictionary as “a room or building for public amusement”) is home to the St. Simon Island Visitors Center, a branch of the regional library, and the Island Players Theatre. Reopened in the fall of 2006 following a year-long renovation, the Casino also features public meeting and function rooms, a 100-seat theater, an outdoor bandstand, and restroom facilities. The St. Simon Island Visitors Center is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Included is Neptune Park, an oceanfront public park that features picnic tables under stately oak trees, a children's playground, a miniature golf course, lots of benches for relaxing by the sea, a fishing pier, and a bandstand where events are held throughout the year.
