WELCOME TO CHATEAU ELAN!
Within the sweeping panorama of the north Georgia foothills, just 40 minutes north of Atlanta but a world away from the bustling city is Château Élan Winery & Resort. Here on 3,500 acres, French provincial and Southern hospitality combine to produce a superb leisure resort and conference destination. Château Élan
is passionate about golf, so it’s no wonder that our two public 18-hole championship Château and Woodlands courses are considered among the finest in Georgia. The Par 3, 9-hole Executive walking course adjacent to the Inn, is ideal for a fresh air break in your weekend or meeting schedule. The Chateau Course
This beautiful championship course with contoured fairways, thick Bermuda roughs, and strategically placed lakes and ponds opened in July 1989. Built on 170 acres of the finest terrain, the 7,030 yard layout of the Chateau Course, designed by Denis Griffiths, plays to a par 71. Winding along three lakes and two creeks, water comes into play on ten of the eighteen holes while 87 bunkers give definition and character to the course.ReviewsGolf Digest:
This is a wonderful resort course with excellent range facilities. You'll need to hit shots accurately or you'll end up in trouble. The greens are large and undulating.Zagat Survey:
Ranked in the Zagat Survey's America's Best Golf Courses with Very Good to Excellence scores in all categories. A real find north of Atlanta "crisscrossed by hidden creaks" and bumping along on "hills aplenty", the namesake course is "a solid challenge for any skill level."The Woodlands Course
The Woodlands, also designed by Griffiths opened in 1996. Many consider this course to be the most picturesque of the three championship layouts. The stunning 6,735 yard, par 72 course has numerous elevations presenting memorable views of sparkling lakes and tree-lined holes to give players a blissful feeling of solitude.ReviewsGolf Digest:
4 and 1/2 stars, The Woodlands is top-shelf in every way. Those in the know call it a truly outstanding and challenging course. Be prepared for rolling terrain with some blind shots.Zagat Survey:
The Woodlands Course ranked in the Zagat Survey's America's Best Golf Courses with Very Good to Excellence scores in all categories. On Chateau Elan's younger sibling, a "must-play" that "requires a great deal of accuracy" ("try the up-slope side of the fairways for a good roll"); amid "beatific mountains and rolling hills" with "tremendous housing along the course", the "beautific setting" alone makes it "worth the trip" northeast from Atlanta. The Par 3
This nine hole layout located behind the Inn at Château Élan, features beautifully landscaped holes, strategically placed bunkers and small bent grass greens. This 9 hole, par 3, Executive walking course provides a perfect venue for the golf enthusiast when time does not allow a full round. Holes vary in length from under 100 yards to more than 200 making it an ideal place for beginners, or to brush-up on your mid and short game.Dave Pelz Scoring Game School
