Description

The Augusta Ballet is a nationally recognized dance company that educates the community and enriches the quality of life in the CSRA by providing a variety of performances within a framework of artistic excellence.

The Augusta Ballet will work with principal stars of the New York City Ballet, the Augusta Symphony, and students from the University of South Carolina Dance Program for a spectacular performance. New York City Ballet principal dances such as Wendy Whelan and Albert Evans will perform major works by George Balanchine and other acclaimed choreographers. The performance will be follow by the Fifth Annual Black Tie Gala to be held at the Augusta Museum of History.
Celebrating its 45th season, Augusta Ballet offers something for everyone. The company will present Hubbard Street 2, the second company of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, for a weeklong residency at Davidson Fine Arts School culminating in a public performance on Saturday October 27, 2007 at the Beverly J. Barnhart Theatre. This weeklong residency is made possible through funding from the Porter Fleming Foundation. WinterWorks ’08 and the Ballet Stars of New York City gala & performance will round out the season.
